Media

A buy post carries either one fixed picture or a fresh pick from a linked gallery site on every buy.

The two modes

SettingValue
Fixed image (default)Every buy carries the same image, GIF or video.
Random gallery imageEvery buy carries a fresh picture from the bot's linked gallery site(s).

Switch it in the dashboard's Layout settings (Fixed image / Random gallery image), applied on the next Save & Push.

Random mode draws from every image on the linked gallery site; a bot with more than one linked gallery draws from all of them. A new generation added to a linked site becomes eligible within the hour. If no gallery picture is ready, the buy falls back to the fixed image, or to text alone — a buy is never dropped for a media failure.

Note

With random mode on but no gallery linked, the settings card reads Buy media: random gallery image is on, but no gallery site is linked to this bot — the fixed <image/GIF/video> is used, or ends — posts go without media when there's no fixed media either. Buys still post.

Which paths can drop random mode

Setting new media while random gallery mode is on switches the bot back to fixed media.

In Telegram — the post-fork wizard's Edit Media, the settings card's Update Media, and /buybotimage — the bot asks first and writes nothing until you confirm.

The dashboard's own media upload does not ask

Uploading new media from the dashboard while random mode is on replaces the fixed media immediately, with no confirmation, and leaves random mode on — the new file only becomes the fallback. The upload doesn't wait for Save & Push.
